Follow the instructions below to create your letter template for mail merge.
STEP 1: Obviously login :)
STEP 2: Click on Letters menu at the top
STEP 3: Click on New Letter button
STEP 4: Fill in the fields for this letter template
name - name of the letter e.g. payment reminder
description - some description
content - This is where you'll put the content of the letter using the placeholder tags.
This is a reminder of your child ::student.name:: fee, which is outstanding. The outstanding fee is ::student.outstanding_fee::.
letter per page - no of letters to be printed per, we recommend 2 so 2 letters will be generated per page, and once printed you can cut them.
STEP 5: Click on Create letter button to save this template
Once you've done this, you can now go to any classroom that you need to generate the letter, click on show letters button, this will give you a pop-up to select which letter to generate, click on print to start the generation, once done a PDF file will be downloaded on your computer, ready to print.
The number of letters is based on the number of students in a classroom, so if there are 10 students than 10 letters will be generated, 2 per page (if that's the setting), this means you'll have 5 pages to print.
If the content of the letter is long we recommend using 1 letters per page settings.
